It's great to be codependent

At many times during my recovery I never thought or imagined I could say "it’s great to be

codependent". I am grateful that today I can. Compared with the nightmare of living my

life never really knowing who I was and feeling like I didn’t belong or fit in anywhere, being

able to I.D. as a codependent came as a blessing. I live in Bathurst, a country town in

Australia. I only moved here in January, and I was very pleased to find CODA online as

there are no meetings in Bathurst. Codependency will never leave me, it is a part of who I

am. I have learnt to except myself, warts and all, and I couldn’t have done this without the

support of CODA meetings. I am grateful that I can continue on the recovery road with the

support CODA online. But for the grace of God go I.
