Goodbye to Sadie

She was my best friend for 17 years.

She was my friend

Sometime,

I think she was my only friend

No matter, I always knew

She was the very best

She loved without question

And was always happy to see me

Except once

When I took her for surgery

That time she was mad for days

But she forgave me even that

Cause she knew I loved her too

When I was unhappy or hurt

She would get as close as she could

As if to say

Let me take away your pain

She was always there for me

She made me laugh and gave me joy

We shared much in our 17 years

We had many happy times

And it was easy

Cause I knew she loved me too

Sometime

It seems we've been together forever

But it wasn't long enough

And now she is gone and that's forever

I'll miss her for a long time

But I think she was happy with me

Cause she knew I loved her too
