Translation Management Committee (TMC)

Co-Dependents Anonymous, Inc. (CoDA)

The Translation Management Committee is assisting group and organizations around the world to translate CoDA material into their own language.  The committee basically has two areas that it is working in:

(1)  The United States:  Translate documents into other languages for use within the United States.  CoRe will publish and distribute these materials within and outside the United States.  The committee is currently working on translating CoDA materials into Spanish.  Nearly all of the documents have been translated and efforts are underway to proof these documents so that CoRe can publish and distribute them.

(2)  Outside the United States:  Assist groups to translate material into their language.  These groups will later publish and distribute these materials themselves.  This is really a grass roots task and most of the time is accomplished by volunteers.

If you are interested in assisting in this work in any way, please contact the Translation Management Committee via email at tmc@coda.org.  You may wish to take a look at work that is already underway before deciding how you would like to help.

TMC has developed procedures for working translations.  If you or your Voting Entity would like to volunteer to translate documents for your language you should review these documents:

01-TMC_Priorities.doc - Lists what TMC's priorities in the way of which documents to translate, priority of languages to translate as well as the priority of languages to issue Publish and Distribute agreements.

02-TMC_Procedures.doc - Procedures that TMC uses in the translation as well as the Publish and Distribution agreements.

03-TMC_Translation_Policy.doc - Policy concerning how translation will occur (i.e. professional or volunteers.)

04-TMC_P&D_Policy.doc - Policy for Publish and Distribution Agreements in and outside the US.

05-TMC_Recognized_VEs.doc - TMC desires to work with National entities of various Countries, not independent small groups.

TMC is working on a minimum quality policy.

Initial contact:  20-TMC_application.doc - Each entity that desires to translate material into their language should fill this out and email it to tmc @coda.org.
